Tucson, Arizona (April 19, 2007) – Greater Tucson Leadership and the Pima County Board of Supervisors are hosting the annual State of the County Luncheon and Expo on Friday, May 4, 2007 at 11:30 am in the Tucson Convention Center Grand Ballroom. The cost of the luncheon is $40 per person or $400 for a table of ten. If you are a member of Greater Tucson Leadership, the cost is discounted. Reservations for the State of the County luncheon can be made by going on line at www.TucsonLeadership.org. Seating is limited.

The theme of this year’s event is “Sustaining a Livable Community.” Each member of the Pima County Board of Supervisors will be presenting a "Partner Award" to community members to recognize their efforts to improve our community. The State of the County video will highlight special projects in each Supervisory District that emphasize Pima County’s role in sustaining a livable community. A State of the County Expo will emphasize the services and special projects provided to the public by over 20 different Pima County departments. The Expo is free and will be open to the public from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will be located in the Grand Lobby and Galleria outside the Grand Ballroom at the Tucson Convention Center. New this year are workshops to be held just prior to the luncheon that are designed to educate neighborhood associations about county services that support neighborhood improvement, safety, energy and water conservation, and will provide information on other programs available to community members. Call 791-4010 for information.

The annual State of the County event is hosted by Greater Tucson Leadership (GTL). Funds generated by the event go toward leadership programs and other GTL activities. The mission of GTL is to inspire, develop and promote leadership in Greater Tucson.
