Pump Up Your MPG

Regularly inspecting and properly inflating your vehicle tires has been proven to increase vehicle gas mileage. In fact, by keeping your tires properly inflated, you can likely save about $400 a year, with more benefits beyond that. Starting February and running through May 2014, use the MPG Contest Entry Form to record your gas mileage and tire pressure checks. Submit the form to PDEQ monthly, or at least once by May 31, 2014, for a chance to win a Free Set of Tires or Car Care Service from Jack Furrier Tire & Auto Care or one of four $100 gift cards. Tire Inflation Education Contest & Campaign
PDEQ is launching a new educational campaign and special "Pump Up Your MPG" contest to educate the community about the importance of keeping tires properly inflated to save resources and improve the environment. Details coming soon. 

Bike Fest – April 2014
Tucson's Bike Fest is a celebration of life on two wheels and is appropriate for all skill levels and ages. PDEQ works with the Pima Association of Governments, City of Tucson, and Living Streets Alliance, BICAS and others to promote bicycling and reduce vehicle emissions in our community.

Cyclovia 2014

Cyclovia – Sunday April 6, 2014

Cyclovia Tucson is a free event for families to enjoy walking, cycling and fun in the streets!  To make the streets safe to play in, motor vehicles will be detoured, 10am – 3pm, from a downtown/south Tucson route on April 6, 2014, and from a central/northwest route on November 2, 2014.  Cyclovia Tucson welcomes community partners, sponsors and vendors!  Contact Cyclovia coordinators for more information about this people-powered, community-inspiring event at info@cycloviatucson.org , or visit the website at www.cycloviatucson.org

Tucson Earth Day Festival & Parade – Saturday, April 12, 2014
PDEQ helps plan and organize the annual Tucson Earth Day Festival and Parade (http://www.tucsonearthday.org/)  with many other local organizations and businesses to celebrate Southern Arizona's unique environment and promote an environmentally sustainable and healthy community.

The 20th annual Tucson Earth Day Festival will be held on April 12, 2014, at Reid Park from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Be an exhibitor, join the parade, support as a sponsor, or come as a spectator. Enjoy the hands-on activities and learn about the many ways to help "light the way to a bright future."
